Daily Gym is a small independent game run from British Columbia, Canada. This page says what we collect and why, in plain words.

The short version

  • Your camera video never leaves your phone. The counting happens on the phone itself. We never see, upload or store video, photos or sound.
  • No account, no password. Players don't give us an email to play.
  • We keep your player name, country and scores, so the leaderboards work.
  • We don't sell your data. Sponsors only ever see totals, never who you are.
  • Want your data gone? Ask us and we'll delete it.

What we collect from players

  • A random ID made on your phone and kept in your browser, so we know your scores are yours. It isn't linked to your real name, phone number or email.
  • Your player name. The one you pick, or a made-up one like "Iron Panda".
  • Your country, worked out roughly from your internet connection or your phone's time zone. We never ask for or use your exact location.
  • Your scores: your score, which move, on which day, and when.
  • The rhythm of your move. For the replay on the home screen we save only the moment each rep was counted (for example "rep 5 at 7.2 seconds"). The figure people see is drawn from that timing. It isn't you: no body, no face, no video.
  • What you tap, like "started", "finished" or "shared", so we can see where the game is confusing and fix it.
  • A scrambled anti-cheat code made from your internet address and browser type, to stop one phone from playing twice a day under different names. We never store the internet address itself.
  • "Is this you?" hint. If you open Daily Gym in a new browser on the same phone and network, we may use that code to show your player name and ask "Welcome back?". You choose yes or no.
  • If you go Pro: your plan (monthly or yearly), when it renews, your Pro code, and your results in the training programs.

What we collect from organizers and brands

  • When you run a competition: its name, its teams, and the logo, colour, prize or welcome line you add.
  • When you book, buy a plan or write to us: your email, and your name and organization if you give them.
  • For sponsors: your brand name, colour, link, one-line message and any reward you offer.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us that a payment went through, how much, and the email used. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to what you enter on their page.

What we never collect

  • Camera video, photos or sound. The share video is made on your phone and only leaves it if you share it.
  • Your contacts, exact location, or anything else on your phone.
  • Passwords. There aren't any.

How we use it

  • To run the game: count your score, rank it, keep your streak, run competitions and rewards.
  • To stop cheating and keep the boards fair.
  • To fix problems and make the game better, using counts like "how many people finished today’s move".
  • To reply to you, send receipts, and run what you paid for.

What other people can see

  • Everyone: your player name, your country flag and your scores on the leaderboards and in competitions you join.
  • Competition organizers: the same, plus how many people in their competition took part. They can download a spreadsheet of their competition with player names, teams and daily scores. They don't get your ID or anything else.
  • Our social media: some days we post a short video of the day's top player on our own accounts (for example TikTok, Instagram or X). It shows the player name, country flag, score and the drawn replay figure, never you or your camera. Don't want to be in it? Pick a different player name, or ask us and we'll leave you out and take down any post.
  • Sponsors: only totals, like how many people played on their day or unlocked their reward. Never who you are. If you unlock a reward, you use the code yourself on their site.

Companies that help us run it

We use a small number of services to run Daily Gym. They only get what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase stores the game's data (scores, names, competitions).
  • Cloudflare hosts the website.
  • Stripe handles payments.
  • Google supplies the fonts and the rep counting model your phone downloads.
  • jsDelivr delivers the counting code (MediaPipe) to your phone. Like any website, these services see your internet address when your phone downloads from them.
  • Ads are off right now. If we turn them on, Google AdSense would show them and may use cookies to choose and measure ads (how Google uses data). Where the law requires it, you'll be asked first, and we'll update this page before ads start.

Some of these services keep data on servers outside your country, including in the United States.

Storage on your phone

We keep your random ID, your settings and your streak in your browser's storage. Clearing your browser data removes them from your phone. Your scores stay on the leaderboard under your old name unless you ask us to delete them.

Kids

Daily Gym isn't made for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from them, and players don't give us any contact details to play. If you're a parent and think your child has used it, write to us and we'll remove their name and scores.

How long we keep things

  • Scores and names: as long as the game runs, so all-time boards stay correct, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Tap data: we only use it as totals, and we clear it out over time.
  • Emails and payment records: as long as needed to run what you bought and as long as tax law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete what we have about you. Tell us your player name (and the day you last played, if you can) so we can find you. We'll answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, privacy laws (like British Columbia's PIPA, Canada's PIPEDA, the GDPR in Europe or state laws in the US) may give you more rights. We'll honour them. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the privacy commissioner where you live (in British Columbia, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC).
